Summary:
Researchers from the Strasbourg Institute of Chemistry (CNRS / University of Strasbourg) and the Jean Perrin Laboratory (CNRS / Sorbonne University) succeeded in controlling the spin of a magnetic molecule with pulsed electric fields. This opens up a possibility for the use in spintronics of molecular magnetic objects whose manufacture is simple, inexpensive, which can be deposited on the surface to make devices and which combine magnetic and optical properties. The work is published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society and is featured on the cover of the journal.
