Abstract:
The spin of a polynuclear Molecular Nanomagnet can couple to externally applied electric fields, as evidenced by Electron Paramagnetic Resonance experiments. This is the first demonstration of magnetoelectric coupling in this class of magnetic materials and was observed for the spin‐chiral antiferromagnetic triangle [Fe3O(O2CPh)6(py)3]ClO4py. This magnetoelectric coupling could provide electric control of the spin states of Molecular Nanomagnets, a highly sought‐after characteristic in molecular spintronics.
